There are usually many options. And, if there's a bad purchasing decision, it could be a career killer.</p>
<p>So what do these folks do? Of course, they engage in lots of research -- which often means relying on influencers.</p>
<p>Funny enough, it's a good bet that vendors don't know who these vendors are (or, at least haven't conducted a decent amount of research on it). </p>
<p>Well, according to Duncan Brown and Nick Hayes, this can be a big mistake. In fact, they think that "influencer marketing" is going to be critical for B2B selling (keep in mind that, according to a 2007 Brandchannel survey, four out of the five top global brands did not engage in any advertising).</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2008/06/17/book-review-influencer-marketing/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Book Review: Influencer Marketing</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2008/06/17/book-review-influencer-marketing/">Book Review: Influencer Marketing</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Tue, 17 Jun 2008 17:55:00 EST. (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/google-inc-cl-a/goog/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">GOOG</a>) had been transformed into a household word last year when President Bush admitted to using "The Google", but the fact that Google is now perched at the top of the list of brand recognition is quite an amazing accomplishment.<br /><br />Google, who does very little advertising, has relied on the most simple of all advertising methods... word of mouth. And now that Google has greater brand recognition than companies such as <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/general-electric-company/ge/nys">General Electric</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/general-electric-company/ge/nys">GE</a>) which is ranked #2, <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/microsoft-corporation/msft/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">Microsoft Corp.</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/microsoft-corporation/msft/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">MSFT</a>) at #3 and <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/the-coca-cola-company/ko/nys?tabs=quotesandnews">Coca-Cola</a> (NYSE:<a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/the-coca-cola-company/ko/nys?tabs=quotesandnews">KO</a>) ranked #4, and it safe to say that Google is one step closer to taking over the world, assuming that it hasn't already accomplished that feat. <br /><br />The report by market research firm Millward Brown also shows strong moves for <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/apple-inc/aapl/nas">Apple, Inc</a>. (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/apple-inc/aapl/nas">AAPL</a>) which jumped 13 spots to #16, <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/starbucks-corporation/sbux/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">Starbucks Corp</a>. (NASDAQ:<a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/starbucks-corporation/sbux/nas?tabs=quotesandnews"> SBUX</a>) which is 13 places higher than a year ago at #35.<br /><br /><span style="FONT-STYLE: italic">Michael Fowlkes has worked as a stock trader for seven years and spent the last two years working as an analyst for the online investment advisory service </span><a style="FONT-STYLE: italic" href="http://www.iotogo.com/aolblog_mf">Investor's Observer</a><span style="FONT-STYLE: italic"></span><span style="FONT-STYLE: italic">.<br /><br /></span><span style="FONT-STYLE: italic"><em>DISCLOSURE: Mr. Fowlkes owns and/or controls diversified portfolios of long and short stock and option positions that include holdings in GOOG, GE, KO and AAPL.</em></span><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2007/04/24/google-taking-over-the-world/">Google: taking over the world!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Tue, 24 Apr 2007 09:43:00 EST.
