At the time of this writing, shares were exchanging hands for $84.84. The peak for the year is $85.46. Is the stock set to go even higher?<br />
<br />
The 52-week low is $62.88, so those who were brave enough to buy at that point have been amply rewarded. Of course, you've also got to be brave to buy after a run-up.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/31/united-technologies-near-52-week-high-time-to-buy/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>United Technologies Near 52-Week High: Time to Buy?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/31/united-technologies-near-52-week-high-time-to-buy/">United Technologies Near 52-Week High: Time to Buy?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Thu, 31 Mar 2011 15:00:00 EST. (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/united-technologies-corporation/utx/nys">UTX</a>), issued its fourth-quarter results on Thursday. Friday, the shares hit a new 52-week high of $94.12 during the intraday session; they eventually settled down to $93.09, good for a gain of 0.6%, a move backed by above-average volume.</p>
<p>The 52-week low for the stock is $61.24, so the shares have come a long way over the last 12 months. The chart shows <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/charts/goodrich-corporation/gr/nys/tech-chart">a nice uptrend</a> that emerged from a round of sideways trading. How was the Q4 profit? We'll start with Amazon.com Inc. (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/amazon-com-inc/amzn/nas">AMZN</a>), an online business that could be a long-term growth story. Then, we'll check out Honeywell International Inc. (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/honeywell-international-inc/hon/nys">HON</a>), an industry conglomerate that hit a new 52-week high.</p>
<p><strong>Amazon </strong>has been <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/charts/amazon-com-inc/amzn/nas/tech-chart">on the move</a> over the past twelve months. You've got to respect the 52-week range, defined by a low of $73.10 and a high of $151.09. And you've got to like <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/story/company-news/amazon-earnings-strong-now-but-not-so-much-for-next-quarter/19450840/">Amazon's latest quarter</a>: net sales increased over 40% in Q1, and net income came in at 66 cents per share, five pennies ahead of the analysts. Also, according to the <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/rtn/pr/amazon-com-announces-first-quarter-sales-up-46percent-to-7-13-billion/rfid322020746/?channel=pf">press release</a>, free cash flow over the past year rose over 60% to $2.3 billion.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/04/24/amazon-q1-earnings-and-honeywell-q1-earnings/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Amazon and Honeywell: Buy or Sell?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/04/24/amazon-q1-earnings-and-honeywell-q1-earnings/">Amazon and Honeywell: Buy or Sell?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Sat, 24 Apr 2010 09:40:00 EST. I'm one of them, and I can tell you that I sometimes find myself still unable to process the fall the once mighty icon of Wall Street has taken because of too much financial exposure. I look to every earnings report for signs of a true recovery in the conglomerate, a restoration to its former glory. The latest Q4 report doesn't necessarily do anything to point me in such direction, but I keep trying to tell myself it's going to be a while, and to hang in there.</p>
<p>According to the company <a href="http://money.aol.com/rtn/pr/ge-reports-4q-and-x2019-09-eps-of-0-28-fy-and-x2019-09-eps-of-1-03-revenues-total-41-4b-for-quarter-157b-for-year-industrial-cfoa-of-5-1b-in-4q-and-16-6b-for-year/rfid291847729?channel=pf">press release</a>, GE, whose colleagues include Citigroup, Inc. <p>So this week, GE <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/AIRDEF/idUSN1240429420091112">agreed to sell the unit</a> to United Technologies (<a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/united-technologies-corporation/utx/nys">UTX</a>) for $1.82 billion. The <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jet_age">jet age</a> is starting to re-assert itself, which is why I'm Reiterating my Buy rating for <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/united-technologies-corporation/utx/nys">United Technologies</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/united-technologies-corporation/utx/nys">UTX</a>), first recommended <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/07/10/reiterating-united-technologies-the-jet-age-has-just-begun/">on February 13, 2009</a> at a price of $47.09. If you bought UTX in February, you're up about 35%.<br /><br />The projected 3-4% FY2010 revenue growth for UTX is looking a tad low, due to large order backlogs for both <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/the-boeing-company/ba/nys">Boeing</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/the-boeing-company/ba/nys">BA</a>) and Airbus. Wall Street had factored-in some order deferments/cancellations, and that did weigh on United Technologies shares this summer, but now it appears the D/Cs will not be as large, which removes a potential revenue cloud.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/10/28/united-technologies-knows-the-development-of-emerging-markets-ha/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>United Technologies knows the development of emerging markets has only just begun</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/10/28/united-technologies-knows-the-development-of-emerging-markets-ha/">United Technologies knows the development of emerging markets has only just begun</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 28 Oct 2009 09:00:00 EST.
