There is also some dissent in the Fed and oversight officials that seems to be gathering more steam. Employment data confirmed a mild improvement today, but that does not help as the data is pre-election and pre-QE2. There was also a total lack of mergers this Monday and most of the price action was in lower-priced shares. <br />

The firm raised its price target to $16 from $9.</li>

    <li>ThinkEquity upgraded <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/google-inc/goog/nas">Google</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/google-inc/goog/nas">GOOG</a>) to Buy from Source of Funds and raised its target to $550 from $400. Previously, the firm thought Google Street estimates were too high and that low single-digit growth in Q2 and Q3 would cause multiple contraction. They said their thesis played out fundamentally but they were wrong on the stock. Given Q2 has past, the analyst raised estimates above consensus and expects an in-line Q3 and for shares to outperform as the economic cycle turns. </li>

Today, <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/warner-chilcott-plc-ordinary/wcrx/nas">Warner Chilcott plc</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/warner-chilcott-plc-ordinary/wcrx/nas">WCRX</a>) <a href="http://www.pginvestor.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=104574&amp;p=irol-newsArticleMain&amp;ID=1323461">agreed</a> to shell out $3.1 billion for the global pharma business of <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/the-procter-and-gamble-company/pg/nys">Procter &amp; Gamble</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/the-procter-and-gamble-company/pg/nys">PG</a>). The deal is all-cash.</p>
<p>There are several megatrends driving the pharma deals. First, it's getting tougher to produce new drugs. And unfortunately, many pharma companies are running out on the patent protection of key money-makers. But <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/penney-j-c-co-inc-holding-co/jcp/nys">JCPenney Co.</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/penney-j-c-co-inc-holding-co/jcp/nys">JCP</a>), <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/kohl-s-corporation/kss/nys">Kohl's Corp.</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/kohl-s-corporation/kss/nys">KSS</a>), <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/nordstrom-inc/jwn/nys">Nordstrom Inc.</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/nordstrom-inc/jwn/nys">JWN</a>), and <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/urban-outfitters-inc/urbn/nas">Urban Outfitters Inc.</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/urban-outfitters-inc/urbn/nas">URBN</a>) are expected to report lower profits for the first quarter as consumers continued to hold off on spending. <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/macy-s-inc/m/nys">Macy's Inc.</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/macy-s-inc/m/nys">M</a>) and <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/abercrombie-and-fitch-co/anf/nys">Abercrombie &amp; Fitch Co.</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/abercrombie-and-fitch-co/anf/nys">ANF</a>) are expected to have swung to a loss year over year. </p>
