While these retailers headline the effort and would certainly gain from any such decision, other large players like Costco (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/costco-wholesale-corporation/cost/nas" class="inlinked">COST</a>) have (relatively) flown under the radar. Could Costco see the same benefit? Costco traditionally competes with warehouse club operators like BJ's Wholesale Club (<a class="inlinked" href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/bj-s-wholesale-club-inc/bj/nys">BJ</a>) and Sam's Club, in addition to companies like Walmart, Best Buy (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/best-buy-incorporated/bby/nys" class="inlinked">BBY</a>) and Target.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.trefis.com/company?hm=COST.trefis&amp;">Our price estimate for Costco's stock stands at $64.67</a>, a roughly 10% discount to the stock's current market price.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/30/retailers-push-for-amazon-sales-tax-but-should-costco-care/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Retailers Push for Amazon Sales Tax, but Should Costco Care?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/30/retailers-push-for-amazon-sales-tax-but-should-costco-care/">Retailers Push for Amazon Sales Tax, but Should Costco Care?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 30 Mar 2011 15:00:00 EST. Housing prices continued south according to national housing survey data from Case Shiller. International stock markets saw a mixed bag on Tuesday, but U.S. investors continued to sit there, buying stocks. Maybe the real catalyst is the fact that very few companies have formally lowered guidance despite the turmoil. <br />

The big players like Apple (<a class="inlinked" href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/apple-inc/aapl/nas">AAPL</a>), Amazon.com (<a class="inlinked" href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/amazon-com-inc/amzn/nas">AMZN</a>) and Google (<a class="inlinked" href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/google-inc/goog/nas">GOOG</a>) have put together a one-stop shop in their app stores.</p>
<p>First off, an app store is just that, a place where you can pick and choose the apps you want to download. The app store is also a place where entrepreneurs can develop an app and with permission place it on the iPhone, iPad or Android device.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/26/app-stores-a-new-business-model/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>App Stores: A New Business Model</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/26/app-stores-a-new-business-model/">App Stores: A New Business Model</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Sat, 26 Mar 2011 12:50:00 EST. The high value attributed to this division in our analysis comes from expectations of rapid growth in Akamai's revenue per media customer. As a content delivery company providing web content to its customers, Akamai competes with other players like InterNAP Network Services (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/internap-network-services-corporation/inap/nas" class="inlinked">INAP</a>), Limelight Networks (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/limelight-networks-inc/llnw/nas" class="inlinked">LLNW</a>) and Level 3 (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/level-3-communications-inc/lvlt/nas" class="inlinked">LVLT</a>).</p>
<p><a href="https://www.trefis.com/company?hm=AKAM.trefis&amp;">Our price estimate for Akamai stands at $37.11</a>, which is roughly in line with market price.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/25/a-bright-outlook-for-akamais-revenue-per-media-customer/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>A Bright Outlook for Akamai's Revenue per Media Customer</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/25/a-bright-outlook-for-akamais-revenue-per-media-customer/">A Bright Outlook for Akamai's Revenue per Media Customer</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Fri, 25 Mar 2011 14:00:00 EST. <p>But now Best Buy is losing market share. You are probably wondering why this has happened. After all since Circuit City evaporated into bankruptcy, you would think that Best Buy would be king of the hill. Not so. Other trends are developing that are eroding Best Buy's territory. According to Forrester Research, consumers spent $1 billion on e-books in 2010. That number is expected to triple by 2015. In the US there were about 10 million e-readers in circulation in 2010, triple that of 2009.</p>
<p>The two leading players in the e-reader market are Amazon (<a class="inlinked" href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/amazon-com-inc/amzn/nas">AMZN</a>) with its Kindle and Barnes and Noble's (<a class="inlinked" href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/barnes-and-noble-inc/bks/nys">BKS</a>) Nook. With these readers a single reader can use the reader or a friend can be added as long as they know each other's email, according to the <a href="http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703726904576192923709743108.html?mod=WSJ_hpp_sections_tech"><em>Wall Street Journal</em></a>.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/11/e-book-lending-the-next-new-thing/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>e-Book Lending -- the Next New Thing</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/11/e-book-lending-the-next-new-thing/">e-Book Lending -- the Next New Thing</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Fri, 11 Mar 2011 14:00:00 EST. It's in the way we buy and read books. Electronic books, or e-books, are taking the book market by storm. Here's a mind blowing statistic. Barnes &amp; Noble (<a class="inlinked" href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/barnes-and-noble-inc/bks/nys">BKS</a>) announced that in December its e-book sales exceeded print books, as reported in<a href="http://money.msn.com/top-stocks/post.aspx?post=208ccc49-e4d2-457b-8ceb-60166183ebaf"> MSNMoney</a>.</p>
<p>The two big leaders in the e-book market are Amazon.com (<a class="inlinked" href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/amazon-com-inc/amzn/nas">AMZN</a>) and Barnes &amp; Noble with the Kindle and Nook readers respectively. In short, it was a sea of red when it came to stocks. A less robust GDP figure was one thing, but the violence and rioting escalating in Egypt was much larger. <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/category/earnings/" class="inlinked">Earnings</a> also contributed some, but Friday was a day of geopolitics. Oil and gold were higher on geopolitical concerns. <br />
