<p>"Financials appear to offer among the best opportunities for 2011," says ETF specialist <a href="http://sectorexchange.com/">Jim Farrish</a>.</p>
<p>The editor of <a href="http://sectorexchange.com/">Sector Exchange</a> explains, "Indeed, my favorite ETF idea for the coming year would be the First Trust Financials AlphaDEX ETF (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/first-trust-financials-alphadex-fund/fxo/nys">FXO</a>), a well diversified way to play the sector overall.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/12/29/top-picks-2011-first-trust-financials-alpha-dex-fxo/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Top Picks 2011: First Trust Financials AlphaDEX (FXO)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/12/29/top-picks-2011-first-trust-financials-alpha-dex-fxo/">Top Picks 2011: First Trust Financials AlphaDEX (FXO)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 29 Dec 2010 15:00:00 EST. Here, he looks at <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/the-charles-schwab-corporation/schw/nas">Charles Schwab</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/the-charles-schwab-corporation/schw/nas">SCHW</a>) and <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/e-trade-financial-corporation/etfc/nas">E*Trade</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/e-trade-financial-corporation/etfc/nas">ETFC</a>).</p>
<p>"Some of the strongest financials in the world have lost 60%, 70%, even up to 90% or more of their value in the last year. Shares of Charles Schwab have come down too. But the stock has lost less than 50%, at its worst.</p>
<p>"Most of that has come since October. We had hoped the stock would bottom. But the stock continued to drop through support, meaning the downtrend is still in place. We may eventually see it go down by more than 50%.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/02/15/brokerage-bets-schwab-schw-and-e-trade-etfc/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Brokerage bets: Schwab (SCHW) and E*Trade (ETFC)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/02/15/brokerage-bets-schwab-schw-and-e-trade-etfc/">Brokerage bets: Schwab (SCHW) and E*Trade (ETFC)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Sun, 15 Feb 2009 10:30:00 EST. <p>In his <a href="http://www.thestockadvisors.com/ccount/click.php?id=2317">InvesTech Market Analyst</a>, he and analyst <a href="http://www.thestockadvisors.com/ccount/click.php?id=2317">Bruce Morison</a> explain, "Our latest featured investment, <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/charles-schwab-corporation-the/schw/nas">Charles Schwab Corp.</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/charles-schwab-corporation-the/schw/nas">SCHW</a>), is a prime example and stands out as a conservative way to access to opportunities in the battered financial group."</p>
<p>"We are increasing our equity allocation in stocks that should show strong relative performance in a market upturn. </p>
<p>"We continue, however, to be very selective in terms of quality, as well as downside risk. Over the past 20 years, brokerage/asset management firms have produced more than twice the return of the market following a bear market.</p>
<p>"The Charles Schwab brand is one of the most well-known and trusted names in the financial services industry. Its strategy is to be competitively priced, but more importantly to be positioned as the gold standard in client service and integrity.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2008/09/03/charles-schwab-schw-value-play-in-battered-financials/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Charles Schwab (SCHW): Value play in 'battered' financials</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2008/09/03/charles-schwab-schw-value-play-in-battered-financials/">Charles Schwab (SCHW): Value play in 'battered' financials</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 03 Sep 2008 10:35:00 EST. <p>"About 10 insiders are betting heavy that E*Trade Financial will turn itself around this year. The filings are revealed here: </p>
<ul>
    <li>Hayter, director 4,917 at $4.06 </li>
    <li>Layton, director 245,800 at $4.06 </li>
    <li>Fisher, director 31,806 at $4.06 </li>
    <li>Randall, director 29,500 at $4.06 </li>
    <li>Parks, director 24,586 at $4.06 </li>
    <li>Raffaeli, director 12,293 at $4.06 </li>
    <li>Lilien, acting CEO 7,376 at $4.06 </li>
    <li>Weaver, director 68,843 at $4.06 </li>
    <li>Brewster, director 24,586 at $4.06 </li>
    <li>Willard, director 11,942 at $3.98 and 13,058 at $3.99 </li>
</ul>
<p>"And for them to be buying after a one-month triple digit move speaks volumes on confidence, which may explain the latest surge in option volume. Sure, the stock took a major dive in 2007, but that's because it got itself involved in a business it shouldn't have been in -- subprime. </p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2008/02/04/insiders-step-up-at-e-trade-etfc/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Insiders step up at E*Trade (ETFC)</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2008/02/04/insiders-step-up-at-e-trade-etfc/">Insiders step up at E*Trade (ETFC)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 04 Feb 2008 08:15:00 EST.
