(<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/intel-corporation/intc/nas">INTC</a>), first discussed here on March 30, 2009, at a price of $14.72, has dipped toward the $20 level, but just view that retreat as an "extended buying opportunity."</p>
<p>In 2011, the outlook for Intel's fundamental picture to continues to brighten. Revenue should rise 10% to 15% in 2011, after a 24% increase in 2010, as IT spending, the need to upgrade aging computers and new applications increase demand for Intel's next-generation microprocessors.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/31/intel-microprocessor-star/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Intel: Microprocessor Star</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/31/intel-microprocessor-star/">Intel: Microprocessor Star</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Thu, 31 Mar 2011 13:30:00 EST. <p>Look for Archer to post a 10% to 15% revenue increase in FY2011, as global demand for food continues to rise. Long term, the company remains well-positioned to capitalize on the development of emerging markets and population growth. Oilseed performance will be a star performer, followed by agricultural services.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/31/buy-adm-pullback/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Has ADM's Pullback Created an Opportunity?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/31/buy-adm-pullback/">Has ADM's Pullback Created an Opportunity?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Thu, 31 Mar 2011 10:20:00 EST. If you haven't already, now may be a good time to consider taking some profits off the table with KO, if you're in near $43.</p>
<p>However, investors who can tolerate the risk can maintain their full position in KO, but keep in mind the journey to $80 may not be completed in 2011.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/30/no-one-ever-went-broke-holding-coke/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Time-Tested Axiom: No One Ever Went Broke Holding Coke</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/30/no-one-ever-went-broke-holding-coke/">Time-Tested Axiom: No One Ever Went Broke Holding Coke</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 30 Mar 2011 12:00:00 EST. Here's why:<br />
<br />
Ferrellgas is the second largest seller of propane in the United States -- a fuel primarily used in areas where natural gas in not available or can not be easily transported. <br />
<br />
FGP will likely post a nice 8% to 11% revenue gain in 2011, following a 1% rise in 2010. Sales gains will be supported by slowly increasing prices for propane.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/29/ferrellgas-partners-lp/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Is Now a Good Time to Consider Ferrellgas Partners?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/29/ferrellgas-partners-lp/">Is Now a Good Time to Consider Ferrellgas Partners?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Tue, 29 Mar 2011 17:00:00 EST. (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/transcanada-corporation/trp/nys">TRP</a>), first discussed on May 11, 2009, at a price of $26.56, is testing the <a href="http://clearstation.etrade.com/cgi-bin/details?Symbol=trp">$40 level</a>, and I obviously still like the shares.</p>
<p>And the reason is obvious enough. TransCanada's natural gas operations hold considerable promise. It's a natural gas transmission and storage company that also owns oil assets and electric power generation assets (including 19 wholly-owned power plants).</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/29/transcanada-is-pushing-40-a-share/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>TransCanada Is Pushing $40 a Share</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/29/transcanada-is-pushing-40-a-share/">TransCanada Is Pushing $40 a Share</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Tue, 29 Mar 2011 11:30:00 EST. <p>In 2011, slow growth and dividend play Verizon should post a 2% to 2.5% revenue gain, after flattish revenue in 2010, with data services being the key revenue increase driver. The stock has been in a very narrow range. The 52-week low is $21.02 while the 52-week high is $26.22. The one-year <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/charts/conagra-foods-inc/cag/nys/tech-chart">chart</a> reflects the inability of the stock to break out to new levels. <p>And that's means it's prudent to consider a dividend play or two, and BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/bp-prudhoe-bay-royalty-trust/bpt/nys">BPT</a>), first discussed here on March 26, 2010, at a price of $93.90, fits the bill.</p>
<p>BPT soared to <a href="http://clearstation.etrade.com/cgi-bin/details?Symbol=bpt&amp;Refer=http://clearstation.etrade.com/cgi-bin/details%3fSymbol%3dbp">about $131.50</a> this winter before pulling back to about $115 in the past month -- a gain that would tempt some to take profits. Still, this dividend play extraordinaire is worth retaining, for royalty reasons. </p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/18/bp-prudhoe-bay-royalty-trust-superior-dividend-play/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust: Superior Dividend Play</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/18/bp-prudhoe-bay-royalty-trust-superior-dividend-play/">BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust: Superior Dividend Play</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Fri, 18 Mar 2011 16:00:00 EST. Hence, if you haven't already, now may be good time consider taking some profits, if you're in near $51.</p>
<p>However, other investors who tolerate the risk and maintain their full position in KMB, but keep in mind the stock gains from here will likely be tough to achieve in 2011. Also, if you're looking for a decent dividend, it's worth it to retain KMB, given its $2.80 annual dividend, good for a 4.4% yield at the current share price.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/18/kimberly-clark-for-dividend-seekers-only/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Kimberly-Clark: For Dividend Seekers Only</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/18/kimberly-clark-for-dividend-seekers-only/">Kimberly-Clark: For Dividend Seekers Only</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Fri, 18 Mar 2011 12:40:00 EST. <br />
However, those who are seeking a decent dividend can maintain their full position in SO: a $1.82 annual dividend, good for a 4.9% yield at the current $36.60 share price, offers a modest income stream.<br />
<br />
Longer-term, two to three years out, SO, with its 42.9 million megawatts of generating capacity, is likely to be a decent utility sector performer, and the reason is its Atlanta-area operations.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/17/the-southern-co-for-dividend-seekers-only/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The Southern Co.: For Dividend Seekers Only</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/17/the-southern-co-for-dividend-seekers-only/">The Southern Co.: For Dividend Seekers Only</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Thu, 17 Mar 2011 15:30:00 EST. (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/homeowners-choice-inc/hcii/nas">HCII</a>) that I included among <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/01/10/chasing-value-2011-stock-picks-10-and-11/">my stock picks</a> for 2011. My suggestion was made with some reservations, not because of it's growth potential, but because I was concerned that the write-up itself might impact the stock.<br />
<br />
Yesterday, March 8, HCII reported it's 13th straight quarter of profitability with Q4 earnings of 27 cents per share versus anticipated earnings of 14 cents.<br />
<br />
At the time of the initial post HCII was $8.08. It was $8.50 at today's opening and has been hovering around that mark most of the trading day. That equates to a 5.19% gain in 9 weeks (30% annualized).<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/09/chasing-value-homeowners-choice-earnings-another-great-quarter/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Chasing Value: Homeowners Choice Earnings, Another Great Quarter</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/09/chasing-value-homeowners-choice-earnings-another-great-quarter/">Chasing Value: Homeowners Choice Earnings, Another Great Quarter</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 09 Mar 2011 17:00:00 EST. The company's quarterly dividend <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/article/wal-mart-raises-dividend-21-percent-to/1633277/">was raised by 21%</a>. Very nice. So why are the shares off today?</p>
<p>To be fair, they were in positive territory earlier in the morning. Unfortunately, as I write this, with roughly three hours to go before the conclusion of the session, they are down 0.5% to $51.74. Perhaps they will be in the green by the end of the day. When you think about it, though, a 21% jump in a metric that is supposed to be friendly to investors should have received a lot more respect, correct?</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/04/wal-mart-ups-dividend-stock-is-down/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Walmart Boosts Dividend; Stock Falls</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/04/wal-mart-ups-dividend-stock-is-down/">Walmart Boosts Dividend; Stock Falls</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Fri, 04 Mar 2011 15:30:00 EST. <br />
The editor of <a href="http://www.dripinvestor.com">The DRIP Investor</a> explains, "Four stocks in that index -- ExxonMobil (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/exxon-mobil-corporation/xom/nys">XOM</a>), PepsiCo (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/pepsico-inc/pep/nys">PEP</a>), Procter &amp; Gamble (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/the-procterandgamble-company/pg/nys">PG</a>) and Walgreen (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/walgreen-co/wag/nys">WAG</a>) -- are also long-time residents of our Editor's Portfolio.<br />
<br />
"It's estimated that approximately one-third of the S&amp;P 500 Index's total return since 1926 is due to dividends. Thus, dividends matter, especially if that dividend stream rises over time.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/04/dividend-aristrocrats-four-income-favorite/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dividend Aristrocrats: Four Income Favorites</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/04/dividend-aristrocrats-four-income-favorite/">Dividend Aristrocrats: Four Income Favorites</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Fri, 04 Mar 2011 10:00:00 EST. Heinz Company (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/h-j-heinz-company/hnz/nys">HNZ</a>), a food concern famous for its ketchup product and whose colleagues include ConAgra (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/conagra-foods-inc/cag/nys">CAG</a>) and Campbell Soup (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/campbell-soup-company/cpb/nys">CPB</a>), closed today's session higher by 1.4%. The final quote of $49.66 isn't far at all from the 52-week high of $50.77. Is the stock a buy?<br />
<br />
You know, there's a very interesting element to this story, and it has to do with the <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/glossary/Dividend%20Yield">dividend yield</a>. Right now, Heinz's yield is 3.6%. That's pretty awesome. You've got take notice of a stock that is both near a 52-week high and possessive of a lofty yield.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/03/heinz-higher-on-earnings-news/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Heinz Higher on Earnings News</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/03/heinz-higher-on-earnings-news/">Heinz Higher on Earnings News</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Thu, 03 Mar 2011 18:00:00 EST. I rather enjoyed it. And I think the future may be bright for the retailer and arch enemy of Lowe's (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/lowe-s-companies-inc/low/nys">LOW</a>). </p>
<p>According to <a href="http://www.thestreet.com/_aol/story/11017057/1/home-depot-hikes-dividend-lifts-forecast.html#">TheStreet.com</a>, net income calculated out to 36 cents per share for the fourth quarter. Smucker Company (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/the-j-m-smucker-company/sjm/nys">SJM</a>), a food concern in the same category as ConAgra Foods (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/conagra-foods-inc/cag/nys">CAG</a>) and Kraft Foods (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/kraft-foods-inc/kft/nys">KFT</a>), issued its fiscal third-quarter report on Thursday. The document wasn't too thrilling, but it shows that the business is holding its own in the competitive battlefield of the supermarket shelves. </p>
<p>Its adjusted profit of <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/article/smucker-earnings-boosted-by-higher/776742/">$1.27 per share</a> came in ahead of the overall projection by one penny. Not bad, considering the article highlights the challenges of navigating a volatile environment in terms of ingredient costs.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/02/19/smucker-q3-earnings/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Smucker Reports Q3 Earnings: Is the Stock a Buy?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/02/19/smucker-q3-earnings/">Smucker Reports Q3 Earnings: Is the Stock a Buy?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Sat, 19 Feb 2011 11:40:00 EST. (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/bce-incorporated/bce/nys">BCE</a>) in the latest issue of The Canada Report newsletter.</p>
<p>I originally advised buying the stock in December 2008 when it was trading at $17.76 following the collapse of a multi-billion dollar bid to take the company private. At the time, I felt that investors were overreacting to the news and throwing out the baby with the bathwater.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/02/17/bce-still-a-buy/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>BCE Still a Buy</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/02/17/bce-still-a-buy/">BCE Still a Buy</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Thu, 17 Feb 2011 16:40:00 EST.
