<br />
The company is on the move again -- and Google's Android is leading the way. Google sees the next leg of the Internet revolution in the smart phone, tablet and e-reader market -- and there's already a fierce battle raging. Google's Android is making inroads into the iPhone turf. How deep is the penetration? Singapore research firm Canalys said, "<a href="http://www.businessweek.com/news/2011-02-14/google-s-android-is-the-next-windows-volpi-says.html">Google shipped twice as many devices as Apple's iPhone.</a> in the fourth quarter," capturing 33% of shipments, up from 8.7% a year ago.<br />

A pricing battle between Barnes &amp; Noble (<a class="inlinked" href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/barnes-and-noble-inc/bks/nys">BKS</a>) - which makes the Nook -- and Amazon.com, Inc. (<a class="inlinked" href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/amazon-com-inc/amzn/nas">AMZN</a>) -- parent of the Kindle -- leaves consumers the winners, as the devices are <a href="http://mashable.com/2010/06/21/ereader-price-cuts/" target="_blank">now priced south of $200</a>. <br />
<br />
The WiFi-only Nook is now available for just $149 (the 3G version is priced at $199) and the 3G-enabled Kindle has been marked down to $189 from $259. That's a 27% savings. It's also conveniently $10 less than the comparable Nook.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/06/21/the-e-reader-battle-wages-on/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Amazon and Nook Prices Drop as E-reader Battle Wages On</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/06/21/the-e-reader-battle-wages-on/">Amazon and Nook Prices Drop as E-reader Battle Wages On</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 21 Jun 2010 18:00:00 EST. (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/apple-inc/aapl/nas">AAPL</a>) introduced the iPad tablet computing device earlier this month, many saw it as immediately being the e-reader device to beat. After all, there were 60,000 e-books in Apple's iBooks store, right? Lest we forget that e-tailer extraordinaire Amazon.com, Inc. (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/amazon-com-inc/amzn/nas">AMZN</a>) released its Kindle e-reader device in 2007 and has over 400,000 books available in the Kindle store for purchase and download. But, with the Apple brand behind it, everyone seems to have forgotten about the Kindle.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/04/16/can-apples-ipad-really-dethrone-amazons-kindle/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Can Apple's iPad Really Dethrone Amazon's Kindle?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/04/16/can-apples-ipad-really-dethrone-amazons-kindle/">Can Apple's iPad Really Dethrone Amazon's Kindle?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Fri, 16 Apr 2010 16:00:00 EST. If you think that the stock won't fall by too much in the coming months, then now could be a good time to look at a bullish hedged trade on SNE.<br />
<br />
SNE opened this morning at $40.11. So far today the stock has hit a low of $39.98 and a high of $40.22. As of 11:55, SNE is trading at $40.00 up 1.16 (3.0%). The chart for SNE looks bearish and <a target="_blank" href="http://www.iotogo.com/spoutlookonline">S&amp;P</a> gives SNE a negative 2 STARS (out of 5) sell ranking.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/03/23/sony-cuts-price-of-e-reader/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sony Cuts Price of E-Reader</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/03/23/sony-cuts-price-of-e-reader/">Sony Cuts Price of E-Reader</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Tue, 23 Mar 2010 12:30:00 EST. And, there's still the rest of the month to go, including the run-up to Christmas. Just as the <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE5BH08C20091218?type=technologyNews" target="_blank">battle for e-reader market share began to flare up,</a> it already seems to be over.</p>

But if you run out of reading material and you're away from home, too bad. Until now.</p>
<p>Rumors continue to swirl that Sony is not far off from unveiling a wireless version of its Reader. The company's e-reader group has <a href="http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/siliconalley/big-tech/sony_to_unveil_e_reader_with_wireless_in_2_weeks_2009_8.html?section=money_topstories" target="_blank">extended an invitation</a> to reporters for a meeting on August 25. Could a wireless announcement be in the offing?</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/08/12/finally-a-sony-e-reader-with-wireless-capabilities/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Finally! Sony's latest entries in the e-reader market, known as the PRS-300 and PRS-600, will be priced at $199 and $299, respectively. By contrast, the cheapest Kindle will run you $299.</p>
<p>Sony's budget-friendlier devices are slated to hit store shelves later this month, with the <em>Journal</em> citing <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/best-buy-incorporated/bby/nys">Best Buy</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/best-buy-incorporated/bby/nys">BBY</a>) and <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/wal-mart-stores-inc/wmt/nys">Wal-Mart Stores</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/wal-mart-stores-inc/wmt/nys">WMT</a>) as two retailers planning to offer the e-readers. Meanwhile, the low pricing isn't limited to the gadgets themselves; Sony will also drop the cost of best-selling titles from $11.99 to $9.99, matching the deal offered by Amazon.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/08/05/can-sonys-new-e-reader-compete-with-amazon-coms-kindle/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Can Sony's new e-reader compete with Amazon.com's Kindle?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/08/05/can-sonys-new-e-reader-compete-with-amazon-coms-kindle/">Can Sony's new e-reader compete with Amazon.com's Kindle?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 05 Aug 2009 14:30:00 EST.
