The Walt Disney Company (
DIS) will report fiscal fourth-quarter earnings after the bell on Thursday, November 11. This company is a big long-term holding for me, and if you've read anything I've ever written on the media conglomerate, you'll know that I haven't been too happy with it. Over the years, the stock just hasn't done as well as I thought it would do, not only in terms of capital appreciation, but also as it relates to dividend growth. On both counts, I'm thoroughly disappointed, but I'm particularly displeased with the dividend aspect. Sure, the shares have been a good trade at times, but when you've been an owner since 1998, like I have, the overall picture isn't one to be looked at with admiration.
So, I come up to yet another quarterly report. I enjoy reading them, but I'm not always satisfied with the reaction of the stock once the release has come and gone. What am I hoping for this time around? Please, Wall Street, buy this stock and push it past the 52-week high of 37.98! Is that too much to ask?

Domino's Pizza (DPZ) introduced a rather interesting advertising campaign recently -- advertising the negative statements some of its customers have made. The most notable comments were made about the taste of the pizza and the quality of the ingredients.
Following the campaign, the company has introduced the first new specialty pizza under its new recipe, the Wisconsin 6 Cheese Pizza. The new pie will feature six different cheeses (obviously) on the company's new crust and with its new sauce. But the new pizza isn't the only news coming from Domino's. Next week, the pizzeria will report third-quarter earnings.

One of the most prominent quarterly reports scheduled this week, as the quarter winds down, comes from Walgreen (WAG). Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters are looking for the drugstore chain operator to report Tuesday that its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings were about the same as a year ago, or 45 cents per share. Note, though, that Walgreen fell short of earnings expectations in the previous two quarters.

J. Crew (
JCG -
option chain) shares are rising today ahead of the company's earnings announcement, which is scheduled for after the market close tomorrow.
Analysts expect to see $0.46 per share, versus $0.29 during the same period last year, but the recent trend for the stock has been in a downward direction. Because of the recent movement, I expect that if the company disappoints, the stock will no drop as much as it might rise if the news is good.If you think that the stock won't fall by too much in the coming months, then now could be a good time to look at a bullish hedged trade on JCG.
JCG opened this morning at $32.46. So far today the stock has hit a low of $32.32 and a high of $33.63. As of 12:15, JCG is trading at $33.52 up 0.76 (2.2%). The chart for JCG looks bullish and
S&P gives JCG a positive 4 STARS (out of 5) buy ranking.
