The cereal maker is expected to do okay. According to <a href="http://www.earnings.com/company.asp?client=cb&amp;ticker=gis">Earnings.com</a>, net income is projected to be around 56 cents per share. If the company hits that number, then it will represent a decent bottom-line growth rate.<br />
<br />
The stock has a couple things going in its favor. The 52-week high is currently set at $38.98. Shares closed on Monday at a price of $37.12, not far from the peak. In addition, the <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/glossary/Dividend%20Yield">dividend yield</a> of 3% is attractive.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/22/general-mills-a-brief-look-before-earnings/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>General Mills: A Brief Look Before Earnings</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/03/22/general-mills-a-brief-look-before-earnings/">General Mills: A Brief Look Before Earnings</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Tue, 22 Mar 2011 10:30:00 EST. (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/autozone-inc/azo/nys" class="inlinked" injectedlink="">AZO</a>), which will report its fiscal second quarter results before the market opens on Tuesday.<br />
<br />
Going into tomorrow's earnings report, analysts are expecting to see Autozone announce earnings of $3.06 per share. The company behind the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and the Kit Kat candies isn't expected to grow its bottom-line performance, but should shareholders panic?<br />
<br />
Probably not. Whether or not Hershey goes beyond the consensus estimate is, to some degree, not something for long-term investors to worry about. Last year at this time, net income came in at <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/02/02/hershey-improves-q4-profit-and-quarterly-payout/">63 cents</a> per share. According to <a href="http://www.earnings.com/company.asp?client=cb&amp;ticker=hsy">Earnings.com</a>, this year's quarterly profit may drop by two pennies to 61 cents per share.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/01/31/hershey-set-to-report-q4-numbers/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Hershey Set to Report Q4 Numbers</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/01/31/hershey-set-to-report-q4-numbers/">Hershey Set to Report Q4 Numbers</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 31 Jan 2011 15:30:00 EST. I'm pretty excited about them, actually. I own shares of the software giant, and I may be interested in selling out if they show strength after the release.<br />
<br />
That's the big question, though, isn't it? How will the stock react after the numbers hit the web? Everyone is talking about it. Oh, if I only had a crystal ball. All I have is a gut feeling, to tell the truth, and I have to say, it doesn't feel too good.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/01/26/microsoft-set-to-report-q2-earnings/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Microsoft Set to Report Q2 Earnings</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/01/26/microsoft-set-to-report-q2-earnings/">Microsoft Set to Report Q2 Earnings</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 26 Jan 2011 15:00:00 EST. How is the stock looking going into the numbers?<br />
<br />
I'm writing this before Tuesday's bell, so I'm waiting to see how that session goes, but as of this writing, I can tell you that it appears as if Wall Street is pretty excited about the upcoming numbers. How excited? Well, we're talking 52-week-high excited, my friends. On Friday, the shares closed at a quote of $150, a new top point for the year.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/01/17/ibm-to-report-q4-earnings/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>IBM to Report Q4 Earnings</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/01/17/ibm-to-report-q4-earnings/">IBM to Report Q4 Earnings</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 17 Jan 2011 17:30:00 EST. Starting out on Monday, the Chicago Fed releases its Midwest Manufacturing Index for November.</p>
<p>Tuesday brings the final <a target="_blank" href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/glossary/Consumer%20Confidence%20Index%20-%20CCI">Consumer Confidence Index</a> of the year, as well as the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/glossary/S&amp;P/Case-Shiller%20U.S.%20National%20Home%20Price%20Index">S&amp;P/Case-Shiller Home Price Index</a> for October, the Richmond Fed's Business Surveys, and a look at chain store sales for the week leading up to Christmas.</p>
<p>Data on last week's initial jobless claims will be released on Thursday. And then Friday brings the New York NAPM Index and the Chicago <a target="_blank" href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/glossary/Purchasing%20Managers%20Index%20-%20PMI">Purchasing Managers Index</a>.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/12/26/week-in-preview-final-economic-data-of-the-year/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Week in Preview: Final Economic Data of the Year</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/12/26/week-in-preview-final-economic-data-of-the-year/">Week in Preview: Final Economic Data of the Year</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Sun, 26 Dec 2010 10:30:00 EST. The Florida-based tech company is scheduled to discuss its fiscal first-quarter 2011 financial results after the market closes today, December 20, in a <a class="inlinked" href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/glossary/Conference%20Call">conference call</a> at 4:30 PM (ET) with CEO Timothy Main and CFO Forbes Alexander. You can catch a <a href="http://jbl.client.shareholder.com/earnings.cfm?EventID=89220">live webcast</a> of the call at the company's website.</p>
<p>During the three months that ended in November, the Florida-based tech company <a target="_blank" href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/rtn/pr/jabil-announces-closing-of-400-million-5-625percent-senior-notes/rfid382928800/?channel=pf">closed a note offering</a>. Analysts are expecting the athletic apparel firm to report a third-quarter profit of 25 cents per share, up from 20 cents per share in the year-ago period. LULU has an impressive track record in the earnings spotlight, having exceeded Wall Street's consensus profit expectations in each of the past four quarters.</p>
<p>The stock has also established itself as a technical outperformer, with LULU rising 82.5% so far in 2010. This impressive ascent has been underlined by reliable support at the stock's 10-week, 20-week, and 50-week moving averages, which have guided LULU higher since July 2009.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/12/08/can-lululemon-athletica-top-earnings-estimates-again/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Can Lululemon Athletica Top Earnings Estimates Again?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/12/08/can-lululemon-athletica-top-earnings-estimates-again/">Can Lululemon Athletica Top Earnings Estimates Again?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 08 Dec 2010 15:00:00 EST. This company is a big long-term holding for me, and if you've read anything I've ever written on the media conglomerate, you'll know that I haven't been too happy with it. Over the years, the stock just hasn't done as well as I thought it would do, not only in terms of capital appreciation, but also as it relates to dividend growth. On both counts, I'm thoroughly disappointed, but I'm particularly displeased with the dividend aspect. Sure, the shares have been a good trade at times, but when you've been an owner since 1998, like I have, the overall picture isn't one to be looked at with admiration. <br />
<br />
So, I come up to yet another quarterly report. I enjoy reading them, but I'm not always satisfied with the reaction of the stock once the release has come and gone. What am I hoping for this time around? Please, Wall Street, buy this stock and push it past the 52-week high of 37.98! Is that too much to ask?<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/11/10/disney-set-to-report-q4-earnings/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Disney Set to Report Q4 Earnings</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/11/10/disney-set-to-report-q4-earnings/">Disney Set to Report Q4 Earnings</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 10 Nov 2010 17:30:00 EST. How should investors view the stock?<br />
<br />
Right now, I'm not so positive on the shares. They were trading at a quote of $11.39 at the time of this writing. The 52-week low for the shares is $9.93; the 52-week high is $12.58. The <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/charts/activision-blizzard-inc/atvi/nas/tech-chart">chart</a> shows an up-down pattern that probably doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in investors. You get the feeling that putting capital to work in this name will inevitably lead to a dead-money situation.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/11/03/activision-blizzard-set-to-report-earnings-buy-the-stock/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Activision Blizzard Set to Report Earnings: Buy the Stock?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/11/03/activision-blizzard-set-to-report-earnings-buy-the-stock/">Activision Blizzard Set to Report Earnings: Buy the Stock?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 03 Nov 2010 15:00:00 EST. So what are the analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters expecting?</p>
<p>During the three months that ended in September, London-based BP also announced <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/story/company-news/bp-creates-safety-unit-fires-executive/19653110/">post-Gulf spill changes</a> and plans to <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/story/company-news/bps-incoming-chief-says-company-may-restart-dividend-payments-n/19656083/">reinstate its dividend</a>. Its earnings for that period are forecast to come to $1.51 per share, which is about the same as in the year-ago period. But revenue is expected to be 6.8% higher <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/glossary/Year%20Over%20Year,YOY">year over year</a> to $72.5 billion.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/11/01/bp-earnings-preview/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>BP Earnings Preview</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/11/01/bp-earnings-preview/">BP Earnings Preview</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 01 Nov 2010 14:30:00 EST.
