(TIF) is trading lower today as Wall Street awaits its fourth quarter earnings report on Monday, but by most accounts analysts are expecting to see strong earnings from the company.

Going into Monday's earnings report, analysts are forecasting the company to report $1.13 a share. For the same period last year Tiffany had earnings of $0.85 per share, so if it is able to match analyst estimates it would mark a very respectable 32% jump year over year.
Continue reading Fourth Quarter Earnings Preview for Tiffany & Co.

Fourth Quarter Earnings Preview for Tiffany & Co. originally appeared on BloggingStocks on Fri, 19 Mar 2010 17:40:00 EST. I can't believe what I just read.

Well, to be accurate here, I'm not sure if this is a strong rumor or not. Then again, there has been a lot of speculation over the fate of EA since it has been doing so poorly and since its stock has seen a fall in value the last few years (it should be noted, though, that the stock has been strong the last several months).

But Barron's reports that Apple may want to buy the gaming publisher since it has a lot of cash to utilize for investing. Apparently, Guy Adami of the CNBC show Fast Money said there was some buzz equity surrounding this possibility (it was also mentioned that maybe Apple could purchase Twitter . . . but that's another story!).

Continue reading Apple and Electronic Arts? Revenues decreased 15%, and on an adjusted basis, the company lost $1.30 per share. According to this source, the market was calling for a loss of $1.62 per share. Since management was able to beat by such a wide margin, Wall Street decided to reward the stock by bidding it up over 20% (that's how the shares were trading at the time I started this article).

Airlines are still having a problem with the economy. Consumers aren't traveling as much, businesses are cutting back on sending executives across country. Indeed, I'm sure the summer months are going to see a lot of vacation plans being eliminated as people decide to stay closer to home.

Continue reading AMR beats in Q1, shares see a bid

AMR beats in Q1, shares see a bid originally appeared on BloggingStocks on Wed, 15 Apr 2009 15:20:00 EST. One analyst, Karen Finerman, said she thinks the growth for CROX is not over. If you think that the company won't fall by too much in the coming months, then now could be a good time to look at a bullish hedged trade on CROX.

After hitting a one-year low of $20.68 last December, the stock hit a one-year high of $75.21 in October. CROX opened this morning at $43.06. So far today the stock has hit a low of $43.05 and a high of $43.95. As of 10:50, CROX is trading at $43.29, up $0.49 (1.1%). The chart for CROX looks bearish and steady.

For a bullish hedged play on this stock, I would consider a January bull-put credit spread below the $32.50 range. A bull-put credit spread is an options position that combines the purchase and sale of put options to hedge risk in case the stock doesn't do what you think but still leverage nice returns. This particular trade will make a 6.4% return in just 6 weeks as long as CROX is above $32.50 at January expiration. Crocs would have to fall by more than 25% before we would start to lose money.

CROX hasn't been below $33 since May and has shown support around $38 recently. This trade could be risky if the stock starts to freefall again, but most of the investors who would bail probably already did so when this stock lost its momentum in October.

Brent Archer is an options analyst and writer at Investors Observer. At publication time, Brent neither owns nor controls positions in CROX.
'Fast Money' analysts like Crocs (CROX) originally appeared on BloggingStocks on Thu, 06 Dec 2007 12:22:00 EST. Hopefully, this will not become norm, but who knows because that makes a ballgame.

There were some decent picks on FAST MONEY before Cramer came on: Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) was listed by "the boys" on FAST MONEY as the hidden oil trade, Armor Holdings (AH) was listed as the Iraq trade and Honeywell (HON) was listed as a takeover candidate.

On the Cisco/Apple case: The consensus on the suit is that it doesn't matter as far as the FAST MONEY guys are concerned. I agree, while my partner doesn't. But that's a market.

When Cramer appeared on FAST MONEY: He is not a commodity fan, and he said Alcoa Inc. (NYSE:AA) was a sideshow winner right now. Cramer likes financials as the best sector for the year. Cramer did come out positive on Sears Holdings (NASDAQ:SHLD) as I suspected he would. Adami and Cramer both were out positive on Rite Aid (RAD) as a turnaround with a great CEO. Cramer also came out in favor of Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ).

On Mad Money Cramer was positive on Petsmart (PETM). His pick for humans was Saks (SKS) as a turnaround, and he thinks it gets bought out.

Cramer also noted on MAD MONEY that he is a buyer of Google under $500, because he thinks they'll blow out earnings again and they are going to the $600s.
Cramer visits the FAST MONEY show on CNBC originally appeared on BloggingStocks on Thu, 11 Jan 2007 09:15:00 EST.
