<em>The Street.com's Jim Cramer says that he's making it his mission in 2010 to call out people in the media who provide no value. </em><br />
<br />
Have you ever noticed that with every good housing report there are endless caveats: <br />
<br />
1. Prices are still down year over year.<br />
<br />
2. The home tax credit of $8,000 moved the house, and that will go away.<br />
<br />
3. Home mortgages are artificially low because of the Fed.<br />
<br />
4. Banks have more foreclosures on their balance sheets than before.<br />
<br />
5. Foreclosures continue to occur.<br />
<br />
6. Everything will slip back to imbalance when the credit goes away.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/12/23/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-endless-caveats-dont-make-you-any-mon/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Cramer on BloggingStocks: Endless Caveats Don't Make You Any Money</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/12/23/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-endless-caveats-dont-make-you-any-mon/">Cramer on BloggingStocks: Endless Caveats Don't Make You Any Money</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 23 Dec 2009 10:00:00 EST. <p><em>TheStreet.com's Jim Cramer says stocks connected to the sector will take it on the chin if the housing index falls further.</em></p>
<p>A perusal of the charts this weekend shows something surprising: The weakest group out there has been the homebuilders for several weeks now. <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/kb-home/kbh/nys">KB Home</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/kb-home/kbh/nys">KBH</a>) (<a href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=KBH">Cramer's Take</a>), <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/d-r-horton-inc/dhi/nys">D.R. What's going on here? How can these stocks be so dangerous when mortgage rates have crashed through 5%, the level that every banker I talk to says mortgages jump off the table and refinancings rush to be done.</p>
<p>What's going on? This group's tracking more than just mortgage rates. It's tracking employment and news flow and both are terrible.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/10/05/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-housing-stocks-are-key-to-this-market/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Cramer on BloggingStocks: Housing stocks are key to this market </em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/10/05/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-housing-stocks-are-key-to-this-market/">Cramer on BloggingStocks: Housing stocks are key to this market </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 05 Oct 2009 10:40:00 EST. <span style="font-style: italic;">TheStreet.com's Jim Cramer says don't heed the pundits -- allow yourself to believe things are improving. </span><br /><br /> Skeptical, or impossible? <span style="font-style: italic;">TheStreet.com's Jim Cramer says horrible outlooks from competitors Diageo and Masco make FO a stock to sell in this market. </span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br /> What do you do if Johnnie Walker's slowing and Merillat cabinets aren't moving? I think you sell <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/fortune-brands-inc/fo/nys">Fortune Brands</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/fortune-brands-inc/fo/nys">FO</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=FO">Cramer's Take</a>). <br /><br /> Both <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/diageo-p-l-c/deo/nys">Diageo</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/diageo-p-l-c/deo/nys">DEO</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=DEO">Cramer's Take</a>), the liquor king, and <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/masco-corporation/mas/nys">Masco</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/masco-corporation/mas/nys">MAS</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=MAS">Cramer's Take</a>), the cabinet and plumbing king, reported earnings. While Diageo didn't deliver terrible numbers and boosted its already bountiful dividend, its outlook was horrible. <br /><br /> Masco all around was just plain horrible. Huge quarterly dividend cut to 7.5 cents from 23.5 cents, miserable outlook and a sense that things are spiraling as housing starts get slashed to ribbons. <p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/02/12/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-exit-fortune-brands/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Cramer on BloggingStocks: Exit Fortune Brands </em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/02/12/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-exit-fortune-brands/">Cramer on BloggingStocks: Exit Fortune Brands </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Thu, 12 Feb 2009 10:00:00 EST. <span style="FONT-STYLE: italic">TheStreet.com's Jim Cramer says these companies believed they could ride out the storm, but that wasn't the reality. </span><br /><br />Have I been had? That's how I feel recently about two interviews I conducted on "Mad Money," one with Bruce Carbonari of <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/fortune-brands-inc/fo/nys">Fortune Brands</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/fortune-brands-inc/fo/nys">FO</a>) (<a href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=FO" target="blank">Cramer's Take</a>) and the other with Rick Goings from <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/fortune-brands-inc/fo/nys">Tupperware</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/fortune-brands-inc/fo/nys">TUP</a>) (<a href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=TUP" target="blank">Cramer's Take</a>). <br /><br />Let me say from the outset that these two companies and these two CEOs have been gracious enough to come on my show to talk about their businesses and their prospects and how they would survive in tough times. <br /><br />Both have what I call accidentally high yields. Both are upbeat people and like to see the good in their businesses. They are not "downbeat" -- perhaps even when they should be.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/02/05/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-just-being-upbeat-isnt-good-enough/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Cramer on BloggingStocks: Just being upbeat isn't good enough </em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/02/05/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-just-being-upbeat-isnt-good-enough/">Cramer on BloggingStocks: Just being upbeat isn't good enough </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Thu, 05 Feb 2009 09:45:00 EST. Today investors are bracing for more housing data at 10:00 a.m. EDT after already hearing that <a href="http://money.aol.com/news/articles/real-estate/_a/bbdp/foreclosure-filings-soar-121-percent/100656">foreclosures soared 121%</a> during the second quarter. Other point of interest will be durable goods data reported an hour before the opening bell. Meanwhile, oil continued the steady climb that started Thursday as the dollar weakens, trading <a href="http://money.aol.com/news/articles/_a/bbdp/oil-rises-above-126-a-barrel/96393">above $126 a barrel</a>. It's Friday, and no many earnings reports are due.<br /><br />While there aren't many earnings reports today, there are a few including <strong>Fortune Brands (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/fortune-brands-inc/fo/nys">FO</a>)</strong>, <strong>Netflix (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/netflix-inc/nflx/nas">NFLX</a>)</strong> and<strong> Black &amp; Decker (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/the-black-and-decker-corporation/bdk/nys">BDK</a>)</strong> among others.<br /><br /> <strong> Crocs (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/crocs-inc/crox/nas">CROX</a>)</strong> shares are tanking over 44% to $5 after after it <a href="http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601103&amp;sid=aG1sBZCtEcso&amp;refer=us">cut its earnings outlook significantly</a> on softer demand for its plastic shoes. With all those knockoffs around, is it <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2008/07/24/crocs-shares-tank-on-updated-guidance/">any wonder</a>? Robert W. Baird downgraded Crocs from Outperform to Neutral, slashing the target price from $21 to $5.<br /><br />Meanwhile, <strong>Juniper Networks (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/juniper-networks-inc/jnpr/nas">JNPR</a>) </strong>surged 12% in premarket trading after the company not only <a href="http://money.aol.com/news/articles/qp/ap/_a/juniper-2q-profit-climbs-40-percent/rfid124707392?channel=%22pf%22">beat estimates</a> when reporting quarterly results Thursday, but also increased its sales forecast for the third-quarter much higher than analyst estimates. Friedman Billings and Citigroup both <a href="http://www.briefing.com/Investor/Public/Calendars/UpgradesDowngradesAlphaSort.htm">upgraded</a> Juniper to Outperform and Buy respectively.<br /><br />In deal news, <strong>Clear Channel Communications (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/clear-channel-communications-inc/ccu/nys">CCU</a>)</strong> shareholders on Thursday <a href="http://dealbook.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/07/25/clear-channel-shareholders-approve-buyout-deal/">approved a $17.9 billion takeover</a> by private equity funds Thomas H. Lee Partners and Bain Capital. Absolut is the third largest spirit brand in the world, and the sale attracted the interest of many of the industry's top players: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/fortune-brands-inc/fo/nys">Fortune Brands</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/fortune-brands-inc/fo/nys">FO</a>), Diageo and Bacardi.<br /><br />What makes the high valuation afforded to Absolut so interesting is that Pernod Ricard is paying nearly $9 billion for a brand that only really came to prominence in its current form in the 1980s. <br /><br />With its racy and provocative ads (like the one on this post), Absolut was one of the first mainstream brands to aggressively target the gay community. Back when the sale effort was first announced, I <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2007/03/06/absolut-up-for-sale/">opined</a> that targeting gay media outlets was a decision that paid off, as this large, and often affluent population group, now counts Absolut as its vodka of choice. Perhaps a company like Budweiser, which has been widely criticized for spending money on ads (such as the Super Bowl) that have done little for the brand, could learn something from Absolut's edgy marketing.<br /><br />The M&amp;A field is in a rough patch right now, struggling from a tough debt market and general economic malaise. But apparently, strategic buyers are still able to pay up for strong brands.<br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2008/03/31/is-absolut-worth-8-9-billion-absolutely/">Is Absolut worth $8.9 billion?
