(<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/dell-inc/dell/nas" class="inlinked">DELL</a>) and Hewlett-Packard Company (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/hewlett-packard-company/hpq/nys" class="inlinked">HPQ</a>) erupt into a classic black-heart-of-capitalism, knock down, drag out, donnybrook of a bidding war over data warehousing upstart 3PAR, Inc. (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/3par-inc/par/nys" class="inlinked">PAR</a>), a Silicon Valley-based company that is an early entrant in the much-ballyhooed cloud computing, virtualization, optimization revolution. Damn the consumer, business is business!<br />
<br />
So in the wake of the 3PAR bidding war, which tech stocks are on the auction block as the next buyout targets?<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/08/30/which-tech-buyouts-are-next-after-3par/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Which Tech Buyouts Are Next After 3Par?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/08/30/which-tech-buyouts-are-next-after-3par/">Which Tech Buyouts Are Next After 3Par?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 30 Aug 2010 16:50:00 EST. In this edition of <em>StockWatch: Between the Bells</em>, the MSN Money host and author of <em><a href="http://www.amazon.com/American-Hedge-Fund-Million-Operator/dp/0979549701/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-9829691-8197421?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1191001833&amp;sr=8-1"><span class="srTitle">An American Hedge Fund: How I Made $2 Million as a Stock Operator &amp; Created a Hedge Fund</span></a></em> riffs -- and dances -- on a fistful of market strategies.<br /><br />Tim has three daring tips for you. Digital content storage provider <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/isilon-systems-inc/isln/nas">Isilon Systems</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/isilon-systems-inc/isln/nas">ISLN</a>) is sitting at an all-time low, more than 70% off its high at the start of the year, and looks priced to buy. Genetics biotech <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/illumina-inc/ilmn/nas">Illumina Inc.</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/illumina-inc/ilmn/nas">ILMN</a>) is currently trading around $52; Tim sees ILMN climbing to $60. Sound a little <em>too</em> risky? Tim suggests checking out <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/bruce-fund-inc/brufx/nmf">The Bruce Fund</a> (<a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/bruce-fund-inc/brufx/nmf">BRUFX</a>), a mutual fund focusing on domestic common stock, convertible bonds and zero-coupon government bonds.<br /><br />Considering a short-selling strategy? Tim calls out <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/china-precision-steel-inc/cpsl/nas">China Precision Steel</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/china-precision-steel-inc/cpsl/nas">CPSL</a>), which has jumped more than three-fold in little more than a week and looks set to slide.<br /><br /><a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/jamba-inc/jmba/nas">Jamba Juice</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/jamba-inc/jmba/nas">JMBA</a>), meanwhile, is giving Tim fits -- revenues are up while same-store sales are slipping. He advises to stay away from JMBA.<br /><br />Enjoy the clip, and let us know which of your favorite stock gurus you'd like to hear from in the next <em>StockWatch: Between the Bells</em>! <center> <embed width="425" height="360" align="middle" src="http://xml.searchvideo.com/eb/i/3369214754/a/58ef677afb89fc040e3dec 6de7dd6c26/p/1/pmmsID/1976195/aolflash/1" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" name="dl_flvwidget" allowscriptaccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" flashvars="settings=90177&amp;pmms=1976195&amp;previewImage=http://www.aolcdn.co m/moneyandfinance/timsykes.jpg&amp;autoPlay=0&amp;size=large"></embed> </center><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2007/09/28/stockwatch-between-the-bells-with-timothy-sykes/">StockWatch: Between the Bells with Timothy Sykes</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Fri, 28 Sep 2007 17:09:00 EST.
