Now may be a good time to consider taking some profits, if you're in near $20. </p>
<p>However, those investors who can tolerate the risk can maintain their full position in KSU, but keep in mind the journey to $70 may not be completed in 2011. </p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/04/02/kansas-city-southern/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Has Kansas City Southern Topped at $57?</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/04/02/kansas-city-southern/">Has Kansas City Southern Topped at $57?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Sat, 02 Apr 2011 14:00:00 EST. <br />
However, those investors willing to go for an even greater gain, at the risk of losing existing capital gains, can maintain their current position. <br />
<br />
To be sure, the rails like KSU are in a very good spot, from a commercial standpoint. The nation's inadequate, congested interstate highway system suggests a bottle neck-plagued, high-cost road transportation network in the years ahead. That road transportation system is also dependent on oil, and have you noticed <a href="http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=$wtic">oil's price trend,</a> lately?<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/04/05/kansas-city-southern-take-some-profits-off-the-table/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Kansas City Southern: Take Some Profits off the Table</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/04/05/kansas-city-southern-take-some-profits-off-the-table/">Kansas City Southern: Take Some Profits off the Table</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 05 Apr 2010 15:40:00 EST. May be you should, too? Hence, it goes without saying that I'm reiterating my buy rating for Kansas City Southern (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/kansas-city-southern/ksu/nys">KSU</a>), first recommended <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/10/27/kansas-city-southerns-stock-is-headed-north/#continued">on July 29, 2009</a> at a price of $19.66. If you bought KSU in July, you're up an impressive 70%.<br /> <br /> The rails are in a very good spot, from a commercial standpoint. The nation's inadequate, congested interstate highway system and vehicle system dependent on oil suggests a bottle neck-plagued, high-cost road transportation network in the years ahead. Some of that freight traffic will shift to the rails, to KSU's benefit.<br /> <br /> Hence, look for a 6-9% 2010 revenue increase for KSU, following a roughly 20% decline in 2009.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/01/14/kansas-city-southern-s-train-is-leaving-the-station/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Kansas City Southern's Train Is Leaving the Station</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/01/14/kansas-city-southern-s-train-is-leaving-the-station/">Kansas City Southern's Train Is Leaving the Station</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Thu, 14 Jan 2010 15:30:00 EST. And why not? The nation's inadequate, congested interstate highway system and vehicle transportation system dependent on oil suggests a bottle-neck plagued, high-cost road transportation network in the years ahead. <br /><br />That opens the door for a resurgence of the rails, and <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/kansas-city-southern/ksu/nys">Kansas City Southern</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/kansas-city-southern/ksu/nys">KSU</a>) is part of that fortunate circle. Kansas City Southern has operations in the U.S. (56% of FY2008 revenue) and Mexico (44% of FY2008 revenue), including 6,000 miles of track.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/07/29/kansas-city-southern-on-the-border-lies-a-gem/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Kansas City Southern: On the border lies a gem </em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/07/29/kansas-city-southern-on-the-border-lies-a-gem/">Kansas City Southern: On the border lies a gem </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 29 Jul 2009 16:30:00 EST. <p>The contributing editor to <a href="http://www.thestockadvisors.com/ccount/click.php?id=2027">Gordon Pape's Internet Wealth Builder</a> states, "The logical conclusion: buy rail stocks now." Here he looks at <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/kansas-city-southern-united-states/ksu/nys">Kansas City Southern</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/kansas-city-southern-united-states/ksu/nys">KSU</a>) and <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/burlington-northern-santa-fe-corporation/bni/nys">Burlington Northern Santa Fe</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/burlington-northern-santa-fe-corporation/bni/nys">BNI</a>).</p>
<p>"Who would have thought it? Railways are having a good year. They were supposed to be hunkered down, riding out the recession. Instead, the old iron horse is thriving. </p>
<p>"Surging demand for commodities is more than offsetting a slump in building materials shipments. Even higher energy costs are proving a plus for the railroads. Each jump in oil prices gives them a bigger edge over their gas guzzling competitors: trucks. </p>
<p>"Most important, the rails are able to raise rates despite the economic downturn. Their surcharges are sticking. Yet the stocks are out of favour. </p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2008/05/29/ksu-and-bni-riding-the-rails-to-profits/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>KSU &amp; BNI: Riding the rails to profits</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2008/05/29/ksu-and-bni-riding-the-rails-to-profits/">KSU &amp; BNI: Riding the rails to profits</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Thu, 29 May 2008 10:29:00 EST.
