If you think this stock won't be rising too far in the coming months, then it could be a good time to look at a bearish hedged play on GSK.<br />

Wednesday morning, GSK opened at $32.62. So far today the stock has hit a high of $32.91 and a low of $32.52. As of 11:30, GSK is trading at $32.58, down $0.34 (-1.0%). The chart for GSK looks neutral and <a target="_blank" href="http://www.iotogo.com/spoutlookonline">S&amp;P</a> gives GSK a neutral 3 STARS (out of 5) hold ranking.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/05/26/glaxosmithkline-hurt-by-generic-valtrex-approval/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>GlaxoSmithKline Hurt by Generic Valtrex Approval</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/05/26/glaxosmithkline-hurt-by-generic-valtrex-approval/">GlaxoSmithKline Hurt by Generic Valtrex Approval</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 26 May 2010 12:20:00 EST. Still, revenue in North America, where most pharmas have been hurting, rose 9.2 percent to $502.5 million, helped by new product launches and increased volume. <br /> </p>
<p>On an adjusted basis, Mylan posted better-than-expected third-quarter results on Thursday, reporting an earnings per share of 32 cents -- 5 cents higher than the average estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S. It seems that just like branded pharmas, Mylan benefited from cost cuts. Still, the world's No. 3 generic drugmaker raised its full-year outlook and said it believes it can continue its current momentum into 2010.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/10/30/pharma-earnings-recap-mylan-allergan-novo-nordisk/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Pharma earnings recap: Mylan, Allergan, Novo-Nordisk</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/10/30/pharma-earnings-recap-mylan-allergan-novo-nordisk/">Pharma earnings recap: Mylan, Allergan, Novo-Nordisk</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Fri, 30 Oct 2009 14:00:00 EST. The market opened higher because of yesterday's recovery, but slid from the open. And it slid lower most of the day. Commodities fell again on worries that the economy isn't far enough along to support higher prices, and possible regulation on the size of speculators continued to hamper prices. <br /><br />T. Boone Pickens gave <a href="http://247wallst.com/2009/07/07/t-boone-pickens-oil-targets-for-2009-and-2010-clne/">bullish oil forecasting</a> today, but compared to the past it wasn't that bullish. There was no major economic data for the markets to chew today, just a continued <a href="http://247wallst.com/2009/07/06/tempering-expectations-ahead-of-base-earnings-aa-cvx-sgr/">paring down of expectations</a> ahead of earnings season. Also that won't be known until the formal 4:30-ish closing reset adjustment. This came on the heels of slightly <a href="http://247wallst.com/2009/06/11/continuing-jobless-claims-approaches-7-million/">less-bad jobs data</a> and on some <a href="http://247wallst.com/2009/06/11/a-false-positive-from-retail-sales/">confusing retail</a> gains. <ul>
<li> Deutsche Bank downgraded shares of <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/stanley-works-the/swk/nys">Stanley Works</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/stanley-works-the/swk/nys">SWK</a>) to Hold from Buy as they see risk to Q2 and FY08 earnings due to a slowdown in the European industrial and consumer categories. The firm lowered their target to $52 from $62. <br /></li>
    <li>Wachovia cut the Generic Drug sector to Market Weight from Overweight Wachovia sees near-term challenges for <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/teva-pharmaceutical-industries-limited-american-depositary-shares/teva/nas">Teva Pharmaceutical</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/teva-pharmaceutical-industries-limited-american-depositary-shares/teva/nas">TEVA</a>), <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/mylan-laboratories-inc/myl/nys">Mylan</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/mylan-laboratories-inc/myl/nys">MYL</a>) and <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/watson-pharmaceuticals-inc/wpi/nys">Watson Pharmaceuticals</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/watson-pharmaceuticals-inc/wpi/nys">WPI</a>).
