Analyst downgrades: MNTA, IPG, LIOX, PTR and CGPI

MOST NOTEWORTHY: Momenta Pharmaceuticals, Interpublic Group, Lionbridge, PetroChina and Collagenex were today's noteworthy downgrades:

Deutsche Bank downgraded shares of Momenta Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ: MNTA) to Hold from Buy and lowered their target to $6 following the FDA's non-approvable letter for M-Enox.
Banc of America downgraded shares of The Interpublic Group of Companies Inc (NYSE: IPG) to Neutral from Buy to reflect the economic uncertainty and concerns regarding the company's relative revenue growth.
Lionbridge Technologies Inc (NASDAQ: LIOX) was downgraded to Sell from Neutral at Goldman Sachs following disappointing Q3 results and guidance.
Credit Suisse downgraded PetroChina Company Limited (NYSE: PTR) to Underperform from Neutral based on lack of catalysts.
Jefferies lowered its rating on Collagenex Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ: CGPI) to Hold from Buy to reflect a lack of near-term catalysts given the company's thin pipeline.

OTHER DOWNGRADES:

JP Morgan removed Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation (NASDAQ: CTSH) from its Focus List and downgraded Performance Food Group Company (NASDAQ: PFGC) to Underweight from Overweight.
Friedman Billings downgraded Charlotte Russe Holding Inc (NASDAQ: CHIC) to Market Perform from Outperform.
Jefferies downgraded Forest Oil Corporation (NYSE: FST) to Hold from Buy.

Analyst upgrades: UBS, CRZBY, TRMA, OPMR and MCCC

MOST NOTEWORTHY: UBS AG, Commerzbank , Trico Marine Services, Optimal Group and Mediacom were today's noteworthy upgrades:

JP Morgan upgraded shares of UBS AG (NYSE: UBS) to Overweight from Neutral on valuation, as they believe the risk/reward is now attractive.
Commerzbank AG (OTC: CRZBY) was upgraded to Equal Weight from Underweight at Morgan Stanley, as they believe the company has eliminated much of the uncertainty on asset quality.
Jefferies upgraded shares of Trico Marine Services Inc (NASDAQ: TRMA) to Buy from Hold and raised their target to $46 from $40 to reflect the growth potential brought on by the company's purchase of Active Subsea ASA.
B. Riley raised its rating on Optimal Group Inc (NASDAQ: OPMR) to Buy from Neutral to reflect the company's proven management team, acquisition of WowWee and strong balance sheet.
Citigroup upgraded shares of Mediacom Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: MCCC) to Buy from Hold on valuation following the recent pullback, as they now think the stock is oversold. Citigroup thinks Mediacom will generate free cash in 2008 and they like the pace of buybacks.

OTHER UPGRADES:

Citigroup upgraded shares of The Allstate Corporation (NYSE: ALL) to Buy from Hold.
UBS upgraded UnitedHealth Group Incorporated (NYSE: UNH) and Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) to Buy from Neutral.
Wachovia raised Performance Food Group Company (NASDAQ: PFGC) to Outperform from Market Perform.

MOST NOTEWORTHY: Sunpower (SPWR), U.S. Steel Group (X), Sysco Corp (SYY), Safeway (SWY), Performance Food Group (PFGC) and Kroger (KR) were today's noteworthy downgrades:

Sunpower Corp (NASDAQ: SPWR) was downgraded to Buy from Strong Buy at Needham and to Neutral from Buy at Merrill Lynch, both based on valuation.

U.S. Steel Group (NYSE: X) was downgraded to Neutral from Outperform at Credit Suisse on valuation.

Sysco Corp (NYSE: SYY), Safeway Inc (NYSE: SWY), Performance Food Group (NASDAQ: PFGC) and Kroger (NYSE: KR) were downgraded to Hold from Buy at BB&T Capital. The firm expects higher food cost inflation to impact near-term real sales growth and margins industry-wide...
