The recent cold snap is is driving the price of oil and agricultural commodities to new highs for the year.</p>
<p>Demand for crude oil is up, pushing prices to a 15-month high. On the New York Mercantile Exchange, oil traded at $81.77 per barrel. Natural gas demand has climbed sharply in China, with prices up as much as 40% in some areas.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/01/06/cold-weather-is-wrecking-havoc-across-the-northern-hemisphere/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Cold Weather Is Wreaking Havoc Across the Northern Hemisphere</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/01/06/cold-weather-is-wrecking-havoc-across-the-northern-hemisphere/">Cold Weather Is Wreaking Havoc Across the Northern Hemisphere</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 06 Jan 2010 11:40:00 EST. Could the magazine's advertisers have been affected by the sub-prime meltdown? Without a home equity line of credit, you can't afford <a href="http://www.houseandgarden.com/trends/things/things_20071022?selectedDate=20071025">$1,700 tubular fireplaces</a>, I expect, or anything to be found in Gwyneth Paltrow's abode.<br /><br />The website still brightly reports that, if you subscribe today, you're <strong>guaranteed</strong> the Gwyneth Paltrow issue -- her Hamptons home is profiled, along with the Harlem penthouse of <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/starbucks-corporation/sbux/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">Starbucks Corp.</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/starbucks-corporation/sbux/nas?tabs=quotesandnews">SBUX</a>) darling Marcus Samuelsson. The sense of doom hasn't yet struck Gwyneth's happy purpleness.<br /><br /><em>Also from Luxist</em>: <strong><a href="http://www.luxist.com/2007/11/06/house-and-garden-folds-are-other-shelter-mags-in-trouble/">Are shelter magazines in trouble?</a></strong><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2007/11/05/house-and-garden-100-year-old-magazine-abandoned/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>House &amp; Garden, 100-year-old magazine, abandoned</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2007/11/05/house-and-garden-100-year-old-magazine-abandoned/">House &amp; Garden, 100-year-old magazine, abandoned</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 05 Nov 2007 18:44:00 EST.
