It dealt with New York City and what it meant to the group -- hence the title, "To the 5 Boroughs." It seems that athletic shoe and apparel giant Nike (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/nike-inc/nke/nys" target="_blank">NKE</a>) also will attempt to capitalize on the pride generated in each of the city's five boroughs, as it will release a <a href="http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2010/07/30/2010-07-30_nike_brings_bit_of_nyc_attitude_to_the_pavement.html" target="_blank">limited edition line of shoes celebrating each of the boroughs</a>.</p>
<p>These shoes will only be sold in New York, with select stores in each borough receiving the corresponding shoe. These shoes were produced for the inaugural World Basketball Festival that will take place from August 12 through August 15. The selected stores in Brooklyn will receive shoes with a black, plum, and white color scheme; a logo for the borough; and laces that identify the shoes as the Brooklyn edition.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/07/30/nike-new-york-shoes/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>JockStocks: The Secret to Nike's Success</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/07/30/nike-new-york-shoes/">JockStocks: The Secret to Nike's Success</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Fri, 30 Jul 2010 12:20:00 EST. But he was the one that had the vision and energy to turn it into a global powerhouse.</p>
<p>Back in 1977, Kroc wrote a book about his story, called <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0312929870?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=mergerforum0f-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=0312929870"><em>Grinding It Out: The Making of McDonald's</em></a><img height="1" border="0" width="1" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=mergerforum0f-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=0312929870" alt="" style="border: medium none ; margin: 0px;" />. The title is appropriate. You see, he did not get involved in McDonald's until he was 52 (in 1954).</p>
<p>What I like about Kroc's book is that he has some simple advice for building a successful business. And, it's always a good idea to look at the fundamentals. So, here are some of the takeaways:</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/10/18/entrepreneurs-journal-fundamental-business-lessons-from-mcdona/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Entrepreneur's Journal: Fundamental business lessons from McDonald's Ray Kroc</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/10/18/entrepreneurs-journal-fundamental-business-lessons-from-mcdona/">Entrepreneur's Journal: Fundamental business lessons from McDonald's Ray Kroc</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Sun, 18 Oct 2009 17:40:00 EST. The 30-year bond was up more that three full points ($3,000.00) while the 10-year note was up more than one point ($1,000.00). The ten-year yield dropped to 2.817% down from Monday's 3.0566%</p>
<p>Another boost came from the auction of three-year notes, which had a bid-to-cover ratio of 2.67, up from 2.2.1 in the previous auction. (Bid-to-cover means that there were 2.67 times the bids for the amount of securities offered at auction.) </p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/02/11/a-real-banner-day-for-the-u-s-treasury-auction/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>A real banner day for the U.S. Treasury auction</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/02/11/a-real-banner-day-for-the-u-s-treasury-auction/">A real banner day for the U.S. Treasury auction</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 11 Feb 2009 10:10:00 EST.
