The data-storage entity reported fiscal second-quarter numbers yesterday after the bell; how should we take the price action today in light of that event?<br />
<br />
Well, according to <a href="http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-01-18/western-digital-posts-better-than-expected-profit.html">Bloomberg</a>, net income dropped 48% to 96 cents per share. While that doesn't offer any satisfaction for shareholders, this just might: earnings were projected by analysts to be 61 cents per share. The cited article says that investors sent the shares up over 5% on the news during Tuesday's extended-hours session.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/01/19/western-digital-trading-lower/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Western Digital Trading Lower</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/01/19/western-digital-trading-lower/">Western Digital Trading Lower</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Wed, 19 Jan 2011 16:00:00 EST. When do we get out of the hard drives? <br /><br /> These are legit questions, but the people who are asking, "When do we sell <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/micron-technology-inc/mu/nys">Micron</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/micron-technology-inc/mu/nys">MU</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=MU">Cramer's Take</a>), <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/western-digital-corporation/wdc/nys">Western Digital</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/western-digital-corporation/wdc/nys">WDC</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=WDC">Cramer's Take</a>) and <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/sandisk-corporation/sndk/nas">SanDisk</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/sandisk-corporation/sndk/nas">SNDK</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=SNDK">Cramer's Take</a>)?" are the very people who told you never to own them. <br /><br /> That's the conundrum of this semi cycle and PC cycle. Just as we are finally hitting our stride and we realize that the semi cycle is alive and well again, AND NOT JUST RE-STOCKING, all over the papers, including the Wall Street Journal, we see reports crying, "When do we sell?" <p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/10/16/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-the-chips-arent-down/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Cramer on BloggingStocks: The chips aren't down </em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/10/16/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-the-chips-arent-down/">Cramer on BloggingStocks: The chips aren't down </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Fri, 16 Oct 2009 09:40:00 EST. <em> TheStreet.com's Jim Cramer says managers are being judged on their exposure to this rally. </em><br />

Did <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/abbott-laboratories/abt/nys">Abbott Laboratories</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/abbott-laboratories/abt/nys">ABT</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=ABT">Cramer's Take</a>) scare the shorts? Or was it so easy to get people to buy winners and sell losers at the end of the quarter that the market had to go higher? What makes a thin market levitate rather than decline? <br />
<br />
I got to thinking about this and the incredibly bullish comments by one of my favorite strategists, Byron Wien -- comments that are even more bullish than usual for him -- and concluded that the single best thing that the bulls have going for them is that the market is up big and you look like a real knucklehead if you aren't invested or haven't made any money on the long side going into the fourth quarter.<p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/09/29/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-the-need-to-be-long-is-lifting-us-all/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Cramer on BloggingStocks: The need to be long is lifting us all</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/09/29/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-the-need-to-be-long-is-lifting-us-all/">Cramer on BloggingStocks: The need to be long is lifting us all</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Tue, 29 Sep 2009 09:30:00 EST. <span style="font-style: italic;"> TheStreet.com's Jim Cramer says the spike in stock prices warrants no buying until prices go lower. </span><br /><br /> I read a scary book this weekend: the S&amp;P chart book. It was frightening because there weren't more than a handful charts that aren't overextended, and many stocks have reached levels that I didn't like when their companies were doing well. Chart after chart in every business, but especially retail and industrial, have moved up so much that you have to feel like a chump to come in at these levels. <br /><br /> There are almost no stocks with growth prospects that have accidentally high yields anymore. <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/kimberly-clark-corporation/kmb/nys">Kimberly-Clark</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/kimberly-clark-corporation/kmb/nys">KMB</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=KMB">Cramer's Take</a>) and <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/paychex-inc/payx/nas">Paychex</a> (NASDAQ: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/paychex-inc/payx/nas">PAYX</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=PAYX">Cramer's Take</a>) were the only two that I saw that seemed remotely appealing, and maybe <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/philip-morris-international-inc/pm/nys">Philip Morris</a> (NYSE: <a href="http://finance.aol.com/quotes/philip-morris-international-inc/pm/nys">PM</a>) (<a target="blank" href="http://find.thestreet.com/cgi-bin/texis/cramertake_free?site=tsc&amp;puc=aoljjc&amp;tkr=PM">Cramer's Take</a>). <p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/09/21/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-passing-on-the-upside/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Cramer on BloggingStocks: Passing on the upside </em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/09/21/cramer-on-bloggingstocks-passing-on-the-upside/">Cramer on BloggingStocks: Passing on the upside </a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Mon, 21 Sep 2009 09:00:00 EST.
