The most prominent earnings reports on tap are Wednesday's results from Bed Bath &amp; Beyond (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/bed-bath-and-beyond-inc/bbby/nas" class="inlinked">BBBY</a>) and from Monsanto (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/monsanto-company/mon/nys" class="inlinked">MON</a>). Here's what analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters expect to see.</p>
<p><strong>Bed Bath &amp; Beyond</strong></p>
<p>During its fiscal fourth quarter, the nation's largest domestics retailer <a href="https://secure.forumcomm.com/?publisher_ID=36&amp;article_id=188401&amp;CFID=167875164&amp;CFTOKEN=30400662">opened new stores</a> and its CEO <a href="http://www.benzinga.com/news/insider-trades/11/01/813530/bed-bath-beyond-ceo-sells-23-778-shares-of-bbby">sold shares</a>. Analysts anticipate that the New Jersey-based company will report per-share earnings of 97 cents, an increase of 11.3% from the same quarter of last year. The company also is expected to post revenue of $2.4 billion for the three months that ended in February, a 6.3% rise from a year earlier.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/04/03/week-in-preview-bed-bath-and-beyond-monsanto-pier-1-earnings/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Week in Preview: Bed Bath &amp; Beyond, Monsanto and Pier 1 Earnings</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2011/04/03/week-in-preview-bed-bath-and-beyond-monsanto-pier-1-earnings/">Week in Preview: Bed Bath &amp; Beyond, Monsanto and Pier 1 Earnings</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Sun, 03 Apr 2011 12:30:00 EST. The Dow, Nasdaq and S&amp;P 500 all fell on Friday over concerns about how the ongoing unrest in the Middle East might affect energy prices, and thus the economic recovery.</p>
<p>Will this coming week's economic calendar offer anything likely to bring excitement to the markets? Here's what's on tap:</p>
<ul>
    <li><strong>Monday:</strong> <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/glossary/Consumer%20Credit">Consumer credit</a> numbers for January</li>
    <li><strong>Tuesday:</strong> Weekly chain store sales, TIPP Economic Optimism Index</li>

Here are the highlights:</p>
<ul>
    <li><strong>Tuesday: </strong>Weekly chain-store sales</li>
    <li><strong>Wednesday: </strong>Federal budget balance for January</li>
    <li><strong>Thursday: </strong>Wholesale trade data in December</li>

<p>However, three iconic companies -- Walt Disney (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/the-walt-disney-company/dis/nys" class="inlinked" target="_blank">DIS</a>), Coca-Cola (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/the-coca-cola-company/ko/nys" class="inlinked" target="_blank">KO</a>) and Hasbro (<a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/quotes/hasbro-inc/has/nys" class="inlinked" target="_blank">HAS</a>) -- highlight this week's quarterly results. <p>Markets in the U.S. are closed Monday for the holiday. The Institute of Supply Management (ISM) is scheduled to release the results of its next service sector survey Tuesday morning. This release is expected to show no significant change from the bullish May nonmanufacturing index.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/07/04/week-in-preview-a-quiet-start-to-the-second-half-of-the-year/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The Week in Preview: A Quiet Start to the Second Half of the Year</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/07/04/week-in-preview-a-quiet-start-to-the-second-half-of-the-year/">The Week in Preview: A Quiet Start to the Second Half of the Year</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Sun, 04 Jul 2010 12:30:00 EST. And this coming week's economic calendar for the U.S. starts off with the ISM nonmanufacturer's survey results for April and NAR's pending home sales for February on Monday morning. This glimpse at the service and housing sectors will be followed by March's consumer credit numbers Monday afternoon. Then things are pretty quiet until Friday's release of factory orders and wholesale trade numbers for February.</p>
<p>Between the Monday and Friday economic numbers will come the release on Tuesday of the minutes of the March 16 FOMC meeting, a record of the Fed's most recent thinking on monetary policy.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/04/04/the-week-in-preview-a-quiet-start-to-the-cruelest-month/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The Week in Preview: A Quiet Start to the Cruelest Month</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2010/04/04/the-week-in-preview-a-quiet-start-to-the-cruelest-month/">The Week in Preview: A Quiet Start to the Cruelest Month</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Sun, 04 Apr 2010 12:30:00 EST. The Beige Book report in March suggested that, by most measures, the <a href="http://www.dailyfinance.com/2009/03/04/u-s-economy-continues-to-deteriorate-latest-fed-beige-book-dec/">economy was continuing to deteriorate</a> and that prospects for near-term improvement was poor. But the April report showed that the <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/04/15/closing-bell-when-less-bad-starts-looking-great-axp-dndn-g/">deterioration was beginning to slow</a> in some regions. Also, the <a href="http://aol.ccbn.com/economiceventdetail.asp?event=2039872&amp;client=aol">TIPP Economic Optimism Index</a> is scheduled to be released Tuesday, and the University of Michigan <a href="http://aol.ccbn.com/economiceventdetail.asp?event=2038737&amp;client=aol">Consumer Sentiment Index</a> comes out Friday. So by the end of the week, we could have a good gauge of the mood over the U.S. economy.</p><p><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/06/07/the-week-in-preview-the-beige-book-and-other-mood-gauges/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>The week in preview: The Beige Book and other mood gauges</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2009/06/07/the-week-in-preview-the-beige-book-and-other-mood-gauges/">The week in preview: The Beige Book and other mood gauges</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.bloggingstocks.com">BloggingStocks</a> on Sun, 07 Jun 2009 12:30:00 EST.
